Since opening our doors in 1983, City National Bank has embodied the spirit of community banking. Our story began when a group of local business leaders recognized the need for a bank dedicated to serving the people and businesses of our community.
From the beginning, local ownership has been at the heart of City National Bank. Our initial stock offering was made available to members of the community, giving local individuals the opportunity to become owners and invest in the future of their hometown bank.
Our founding directors included local leaders Jim Gill, Blake Gillen, R. E. Hable, Bill Null, Dr. James G. Price, and Tom Waldrop. Neil Haynie and Joe Hashop joined the board shortly after the bank opened. Their leadership helped establish the strong community foundation that continues to guide City National Bank today.
